Welcome to SWAN!

The South West Area Neighbors (SWAN) promote community pride and civic involvement for Elgin residents living in the area bounded by the Fox River on the east, Walnut Street on the north, Route 20 on the south and Commonwealth Avenue on the west.

Join us and get involved with making our neighborhood a better place to live, grow and raise a family. Attend our monthly meetings to meet your neighbors and help us plan our future.

We meet on the third Monday of every month at 7pm. All meetings are held at Zion Lutheran Church, 330 Griswold, on the corner of Griswold and Washburn Streets in the heart of Elgin's SWAN neighborhood.

Live in an established cottage home or cozy bungalow and enjoy escaping from cookie cutter houses and suburban sprawl, creating unique gardens to personalize your home with an established neighborhood school, a front porch view of scenic streetscapes and living in a close-knit community among unique historic homes.
